Orvia Vietnam incorporated by De Heus, Orvia and Lan Chi to supply healthy and high-performing duck genetics
On 7 November 2023, the signing ceremony on the incorporation of Orvia Vietnam was organized in Ho Chi Minh City. Orvia Vietnam is incorporated by De Heus Vietnam, Orvia Group and Lan Chi to bring high performing day-old-ducks to the Vietnamese duck farmers. Orvia Vietnam operates multiple breeder farms and hatchery locations in Vietnam. The event was attended by representatives from Orvia Group, Royal De Heus, Lan Chi together with many duck farmers from all across Vietnam, partners and press agencies.
The joint venture leverages on the shareholders’ strengths and capabilities, particularly in Orvia’s genetics multiplication and selection know-how, Lan Chi’s state-of-the-art farming and hatching facilities and capabilities and De Heus’ over 100 years of nutritional experience and farm management expertise.

Orvia is known as one of the world’s largest duck genetics companies and is famous for their rigorous screening program for genetics selection. The parent stock is imported directly from France where Orvia’s headquarters and genetics centre are located. Accordingly, Orvia Vietnam is able to commit to the Vietnamese duck farmers the highest possible level of integrity and purity of breed. In Vietnam, the farms and hatcheries of Orvia Vietnam follow the strictest farm management and biosecurity standards and day-old-ducks produced are exclusively distributed via the nationwide distribution network of De Heus. While the quality of the Orvia breed distributed on the market today is highly rated by duck farmers, Orvia Vietnam plans to launch a new and improved genetics line in Q4 2023, which is expected to become the highest performing duck genetics in Vietnam. Mr. Vuong Ho – Director of Lan Chi added: “Lan Chi is passionate to work with Orvia, De Heus and Vietnamese farming businesses to build a safe and sustainable duck value chain without antibiotics residues in the duck meat for the Vietnamese consumers, in the same way how we have done it in genetics development”.
