Fernando Fonseca - Poultry Specialist
With a degree in zootechnical engineering and a creative and innovative nature, Fernando Fonseca applies his IT knowledge to his work, developing creative solutions to the challenges he encounters on the farms he visits. "I enjoy creating tools and apps that make everyday tasks easier for farmers. Sharing these innovations with my colleagues at De Heus and applying them for the benefit of our clients is incredibly rewarding," he adds.
"Nothing replaces fieldwork," says Fernando Fonseca, reflecting on his 22-year career working with farms. Fernando has made it a priority to visit his clients in person regularly. "Being on the ground allows me to provide personalized support that is truly tailored to each farm's specific realities and production objectives," he explains.
A man of many passions
Fernando is married and has a seven-year-old son. "Land, air, and sea hold no secrets for me," Fernando proudly declares. Fernando's hobbies include orienteering, sailing, and diving. Recently, he achieved his Private Pilot's Licence (PPL). "Whether I'm exploring on foot, navigating the waters, or flying high, I find that these activities enrich my life and give me a unique perspective," he shares.

Advancing with De Heus
"De Heus has been instrumental in my professional growth," Fernando acknowledges. The company has provided him with the knowledge and team support necessary to specialize in poultry farming. "I'm excited to start providing international technical support for poultry farming to my colleagues at De Heus Myanmar," he says. "In this new role, I know my empathy, conflict management skills, and assertiveness will be invaluable assets," he adds with confidence.
